COVID-19 Office Updates

COVID-19 Office Protocol

At Eyeland Vision caring for our patients, staff, and community is our primary concern. We would like all our patients to know what to expect at their appointment during this pandemic.

Precautions Our Eye Clinic Is Taking to Limit COVID-19: We employ a strict office policy that mandates that all eye doctors, opticians, office staff, and patients not enter if they are feeling unwell or have a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, or have been exposed to a known case of COVID-19.

Please allow 90 minutes for this visit. All patients, staff and doctors will be required to wear a face mask to the office. We will be utilizing a paperless system whenever and as much as possible. Please email or text our office a copy of your insurance cards, front and back, as well as your picture identification. All patients to complete all sign in forms and health screening online prior to your appointment. All prescriptions that are issued and all payment receipts will be accessed by patients via the online patient portal. A staff member will set up your portal and email or text you the access information. Please complete an online frame wish list and submit to us so we can have your eyewear choices ready and available for you. The links for these forms are listed below and can also be found on our website www.eyelandvision.com

Upon arrival for your appointment, we are asking all patients to please wait in their vehicle for a staff member to greet you. We will be taking temperatures on all patients at that time. Anyone that has a temperature of 100.4 or higher, will be kindly asked to reschedule for another time. Our staff may ask you to wait outside rather than in the waiting area in order to protect yourself and others from any circulating germs. Only the patient with the appointment will be permitted into the office, unless that patient is a minor or requires assistance. Upon entering the building all patients will be wearing a mask and will be taken to wash their hands.

During your eye exam: The doctor may use a special plastic barrier called a slit-lamp breath shield to block the exchange of breath between patient and doctor. The doctor will wait for your slit-lamp eye exam to be over before speaking with you or answering any questions you may have.

We disinfect all equipment and patient contact surfaces before and after every use.

We disinfect all surfaces and equipment (front desk counters, telephones, pens, door handles, waiting room chairs).

All staff members wash their hands before and after contact with each patient and throughout the day.

If we don’t shake hands with our patients during this time, please don’t take it personally.

Once your exam is complete we will have you visit our optical team. In order to follow rules of social distancing and reduce the spread of the virus our opticians will bring frames to you. Please send in your online frame wish list as stated above so we can have your eyewear choices ready and available for you.

All frames that have come into contact with patients will be cleaned with    antibacterial soap and hot water.

Once your glasses order arrives at our office you will receive a text message for curbside or in-office pick up. All contact lens orders will be shipped directly to you. We now offer in-office frame adjustments and pick-up.

Please call or text our office at 915-821-6800 with any questions or concerns you may have. If you feel it's best for you or a member of your family to reschedule your appointment, please feel free to do so.
